HBS weekend at Woodward

Fashionably late, as usual. Most of you are this close to being in the Christmas spirit and here comes a little piece of Halloween... all over again. Whether you partied a little too hard, or got a little too hopped up on sugar, I think we're all okay with watching it come and go and cycling through the rest of the holidays before welcoming it back next year. But we're going to back track for just a second...

It's late October and since the summer months the Head Board Shop crew had been hearing of this mythical creature otherwise known as a free weekend at Woodward, compliments of Pittsburgh photographer Alex Papke and the Woodward guys, Dave Metty,
Jeffery Brockmeyer and Maverick.

We all received the call a few days before the weekend and dropped everything to make the trek from Pittsburgh, PA to the center of the state. Naturally some of us had to sacrifice Halloween plans to do so but I don't believe any of our plans mattered enough to turn away from the mythical creature that was: Head Board Shop's weekend at Woodward. Even Josh Radko, who was diagnosed with mono the morning of the trip didn't miss a beat. So while you reminisce on your past Halloween excursion, let us show you how we spent ours...

Welfare Beach

Chances are, you'll probably only ever see this date once in your lifetime... 11/11/11. So despite my eagerness to release the video last night at midnight, I resisted and did it right. And now here it is, 11:11 11/11/11. And in case you may have forgotten, today is also Veteran's Day. So let me take a moment to say thank you to all past and present for their service to this country, including life long friend Tony Direnzo, who filmed his part from the video on three separate military leaves, two of which he came straight from Iraq. I also heard it's your birthday tomorrow? So thanks for your service to this country man, and happy birthday.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you...

Full Length Welfare Beach Releases 11/11/11

Welfare Beach 11/11/11
A largely collaborative effort amongst a tight knit bunch of individuals scattered around the hills of western Pennsylvania, Welfare Beach is a visual documentation of the attempt to beat mother nature in less than ideal riding territory. Featuring full length parts from Andy Cunningham, Josh McClurg, Matt Dustin, Justin Evans, Tony Direnzo, Glenn Johnson, friends, friends of friends, and people we don't even know...

It's Official

It's official, www.freeultd.com is live and on air. I hope the bold blast of instant blog doesn't scare you away too quickly, and if that hasn't, I hope the complete and utter lack of content doesn't seal the deal. There's a lot going on and a lot of material on it's way. This weekend I'll be heading along with the Head Board Shop crew on a weekend booze cruise to Woodward East. Shortly following on 11/11/11(yes, I had to drop a video on that date) free ultd will be releasing "Welfare Beach" A full length BMX video. You can check out the teaser on my vimeo page. But for now check out the special Halloween quick edit from Head Board Shop, freshly uploaded.

Cheers!
